It's like most everything else the R's say or do...if Obama is for it, is doing it, or someone somewhere in the government is for it or doing it, then it is all Obama's fault, and will ruin our country.
Nevermind it's the same stuff that Reagan and both Bushes did, and that those same R's thought it was just fine then.
How about we blame both parties and agree that there is a revenue and spending problem.
Bravo! X a million.
To rob a post from another website. This makes things much easier to comprehend for the common man...
Joe Shaefer listed the government’s balance sheet: U.S. annual Tax Revenue: $2,170,000,000,000. Federal Budget: $3,820,000,000,000. New debt: $1,650,000,000,000. National debt: $14,271,000,000,000. Recent budget cuts: $38,500,000,000.
Remove 8 zeros and pretend it’s a household balance sheet. Annual family income: $21,700. Money the family spent: $38,200. New debt on credit cards: $16,500. Outstanding credit card balance: $142,710. Total budget cuts to solve problem: $385.

It's ok to agree to that...so long as you admit that it wasn't a problem until Obama did it...but I will give you credit for at least not pretending that both Bushes and the conservative darling Reagan were not also doing the exact same thing...even if it is retroactive, and you weren't complaining about it ruining the country then.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Hank was against the Iraq War.
And he said so at least once.
Apparently the other spending was cool, though.
Until now.

Ask Newt...that was his doing.
The fact of the matter is that any reference to "fiscal responsibility" being tied to "Republican Party" is a gigantic myth...a myth of such gigantic proportions as to be even more laughable than "Saddam has WMD's" or "Romney has convictions"...
I read a couple days prior to 09/11 that the country was a few million in the black. How come in 11 years we have gone so far in the tank?
Because we pussed out and the majority of the country was asscurred chitless. We spent (and continue to spend) vast amounts of money to "protect" ourselves while probably not stopping much. TSA and defense contract spending are a good place to start. Might want to check out those wars too...

The only thing the Military/Industrial Complex needs to protect itself from is a secure citizenry...they not only thrive on, but create themselves an air of insecurity and fear that most people are willing to pay to have assagued, pay with money and civil rights, even when it is illusory.
You are no safer now than you were before 9/11, only a lot poorer, and more scared.

I'm not pretending it's not important...but I didn't wait until there was a Democrat in office to think it was...I thought it was important while Bush was running it up, Cheney was telling us it didn't matter, and guys like you were right here on PP quoting Cheney and telling us that we hated 'Merica.

Again, no.
Hope this helps.

Dan's point is well taken......and he didn't miss my point...It's a common problem of both parties. Don't forget that when the Dem's had it ALL their way (control of both houses and the Presidency) nothing got accomplished......now again it is the Right's blame...... too funny. It's a lame song, no matter how loud and long you sing it.
There's just too many Federal teat-suckers bellied up to the trough....and the Libs would add more.
And hopefully no one thinks our spending problem is going to get any better in any election year.....no chance.....no chance at all.
zip, zero, nada
We be fuuuuked.
